Bidvest 94.7 Hear for Life Trust changes eight-year-old girl’s life.

Eight-year old Pipper Janse van Rensburg from Vanderbijlpark is very excited about the cochlea implant operation she underwent on Friday, thanks to the Bidvest 94.7 Hear for Life Trust.

Pipper lost her hearing when she was six months old following a bout of meningitis. She had what the doctors call ski slope loss, which is mild to moderate in the low frequencies and profound in the high frequencies. But thanks to the Bidvest 94.7 Hear for Life trust, Pipper’s future is much brighter.

The Bidvest 94.7 Hear for Life Trust was formed following a 94.7 Christmas Wish and has already funded over 30 of these operations. The trust funds a number of these operations each year, giving the gift of hearing to those who would otherwise not be able to afford the costly procedure.

Dr Maurice Hockman and Dr Keith Davidge-Pitts, who performed the operation at Morningside Clinic on Friday afternoon, were very happy with the operation and said that everything went well.

Lisa van Rensburg, Pippers mother, is as excited. “We were very worried about the operation but the doctors assured us everything would be alright,” she said. “Everything went so smoothly and we are very grateful to Bidvest and 94.7 Highveld Stereo for all that they have done.”
